Over 10 Pounds Marijuana Seized from A Scott County Traffic Stop

(Post 12 Frankfort) - On the afternoon of May 28, Kentucky State Police received a reckless driving complaint on Long Lick Pike in Scott County. Tpr. Derran Broyles located the vehicle and initiated a traffic stop. The driver Javier Torrez, age 24 was arrested for Speeding, Operating Motor Vehicle Under the Influence of Alcohol, No Operators License and Failure to Wear Seat Belt. Further investigation lead to the discovery of over ten pounds of marijuana.

Javier Torrez was lodged in the Scott County Detention Center and also charged with Trafficking in Marijuana Over 5 Pounds. A federal Immigration detainer was also placed on Terrez. The investigation continues by Kentucky State Police Post 12 Frankfort.
