Pursuit and Arrest in Shelby County

(Frankfort, KY) - At the 33 mile-marker of I-64 east bound Trooper Martin observed a vehicle traveling 123 mph. Trooper Martin attempted to initiate a traffic stop and vehicle began fleeing and passing other traffic in the emergency lane. Trooper Martin pursued the vehicle from the 35 mile-marker to the 43 exit where the Eric S. Nichols ramped off onto KY 395 south. Eric S. Nichols then turned his headlights off and pulled into a church parking lot where he was apprehended without further incident.

Eric S. Nichols age 21 if Simpsonville, KY was arrested and charged with Speeding 26 or >; Reckless; DUI 1^st; Fleeing or Evading 1^st; Wanton Endangerment 1^st Endangerment 1^st. Eric S. Nichols was lodged into the Shelby County Detention Center.
