Arrest Made in the Child Welfare Investigation in Laurel County

(London, KY) - On Tuesday, December 02, 2008, at approximately 10:00 PM EDT Trooper Mike King of the Kentucky State Police, Post 11, in London made an arrest in the child welfare/endangerment investigation that began on November the 28th when a parent contacted the Kentucky State Police for a welfare check on her child at a residence on Vanzant Road in southern Laurel County.

Trooper King arrested Whitney Nicole Denny, age 20, of Laurel County and charged her with three (3) counts of Wanton Endangerment 1st Degree and three counts of Unlawful Transaction with a minor 3rd Degree.

Denny was lodged in the Laurel County Detention Center.

Trooper King is continuing the investigation into the incident.

(London, KY) - On November 28, 2008 at 9:40 PM EDT the Kentucky State Police, Post 11, London received a request, from a concerned parent, to check the welfare of a child visiting at a residence on Vanzant Road in southern Laurel County.

Upon arrival Trooper Mike King located three juveniles that appeared to be in an intoxicated state with one being unresponsive.

Two of the juveniles were transported to the hospital by ambulance with the third being transported by a parent.

No charges have been filed at this time.

Trooper King is continuing the investigation into the incident at this time and was assisted by Sergeant Steve Walker, the Laurel County Ambulance Service and Laurel County Child Protective Services.
