Death Investigation in Clay County

Date of News Release: 11/22/2008

(London, KY) - On Friday, November 21, 2008, at approximately 2:28 AM EDT the Kentucky State Police, Post 11, in London was notified of a female victim with serious burns at the Manchester Memorial Hospital, in Clay County Kentucky.

Upon arrival KSP Trooper Jeff Senters determined that Sandra Spurlock, 33, of Oneida, KY had sustained serious burns at a residence on Cold Fork Road 9 miles north of Manchester.

Ms. Spurlock was transported to the University of Kentucky Medical Center in Lexington for treatment of her injuries.

On November 22, 2008 the Kentucky State Police, Post 11, in London was notified that Ms. Spurlock was pronounced dead, on Saturday the 22nd at 1:20 PM, from her injuries.

Trooper Senters is the lead investigator into the incident and was assisted by officers from the Clay County Sheriff's Office, the Manchester Police Department, Operation Unite, and the Clay County EMS.
