Fatal Collision on I-75 in Rockcastle County

(London, KY) - On Friday October 31, 2008 at 6:20 AM EDT the Kentucky State Police Post 11, London, responded to a report of a single vehicle traffic crash with injury, on Interstate 75, 3 miles north of Mount Vernon in Rockcastle County.

Upon arrival Kentucky State Police Traffic Crash Reconstructionist Detective Mike Bowling determined that a 1988 Chevrolet Corsica passenger car, operated by William J. Kindred, 55, of Mount Vernon, KY, was northbound on I-75 when it went out of control, entering the grass median before crossing both northbound lanes and striking a rock wall. The Corsica then overturned, ejecting Kindred causing fatal injuries.

Kindred was not wearing a seat belt at the time of the crash.

Detective Bowling is investigating in the incident and was assisted at the scene by officers of the Kentucky State Police, the Rockcastle County EMS, the Mount Vernon Fire/Rescue and the Rockcastle County Coroner's Office.
