Shooting Investigation in Laurel County

Date of News Release: 02/24/2008

(London, KY) - On Sunday February 24, 2008 at approximately 11:13 AM, the Kentucky State Police received a report of a shooting incident at a residence on Terrell Road in southern Laurel County.

Upon arrival Detective Mark Allen determined that, Glenn Taylor, 56, of Corbin, had shot his brother, David Hollingsworth, 42, of Corbin, during an argument and then shot himself.

Hollingsworth, who received a gunshot wound to the leg, was transported to the Baptist Regional Medical Center in Corbin for treatment.

Taylor, who received a gunshot wound to the head, was also transported to the Baptist Regional Medical Center in Corbin for treatment.

Both men were transferred to the University of Kentucky Medical Center in Lexington for further treatment.

No charges have been filed at this time pending the outcome of the investigation.

Detective Allen, who continues the investigation, was assisted at the scene by Officers of the Laurel County Sheriff's Office and Members of the Laurel County Ambulance, Inc.
