Fatal Collision on KY 114 in Floyd County

(Pikeville, KY) - Floyd Rinker merged into the westbound lane of KY 114 failing to yield right of way to westbound traffic when Caine Arnett's vehicle, attempting to avoid a collision, struck the rear of Floyd Rinker's vehicle. The operator of Floyd Rinker was airlifted to St. Mary's Hospital in Huntington, West Virginia, were he was pronounced dead of his injuries on 12/5/07. Caine Arnett or the his passenger (Timothy Arnett) were injured therefore neither were transported from the scene. The accident is still under investigation by Trooper Eric Gibson of Kentucky State Police Post 9 in Pikeville.
