Fatal ATV Collision in Pike County

(Pikeville, KY) - At approximately 1738 hours on 9-29-2007 Post 9 received a call of an ATV injury collision on Little Robinson Creek Road in the Virgie community of Pike County.
Upon arrival, it was discovered that the operator, Lisa Stewart drove off the roadway and into the creek. DHP Ambulance Service transported the passenger on the ATV, Billy R. Davis to Pikeville Medical Center. Emergency Room Physician Dr. Edgar Rhodes pronounced him dead at 1841 hours. DHP Ambulance Service also transported Mrs. Stewart to Pikeville Medical Center, where she was later transferred to the University of Kentucky Medical Center in stable condition.
Alcohol use is suspected, and criminal charges are pending toxicology reports. Neither the operator nor the passenger was wearing a helmet at the time of the collision.
The collision is still under investigation by Trooper Derek Sturgill U/931.
