Fatal ATV Collision on KY RT 867 in Magoffin County

(Pikeville, KY)- At 2:35 PM Magoffin County Dispatch requested Kentucky State Police assistance with an ATV accident near Royalton. Witnesses on scene advised Jack Salyer was riding an ATV eastbound on Ky Rt 867 when he ran off the roadway and into a culvert striking an embankment. Mr. Salyer was flown to Cabell Huntington Hospital where he was pronounced deceased at 4:12 PM. Mr. Salyer was not wearing a helmet at the time of the accident. The death is under investigation by Kentucky State Police Trooper Jason Dials U/433.
