Bomb Threat at Sheldon Clark High School

Date of News Release: 09/14/2007

(Pikeville, KY)- A male juvenile student gave a letter he said he had found to the school's assistant principal. The letter indicated there was a bomb in the school and it would detonate at 10:50 am. The letter was signed "Martin County Military". The school was evacuated and searched and no explosive device was located. Further investigation led back to the student who said he found the letter and it was discovered he had a paper in his book bag which was nearly identical to the one he had given the assistant principal. KSP Detective Mike Goble will follow up with juvenile petitions against this juvenile along with a second male juvenile student who was also involved in the incident. The case is still under investigation.
