Officer Involved Shooting Investigation in Bourbon County

(Dry Ridge, KY) - Detectives of Kentucky State Police Post 6 are conducting an investigation of a shooting incident involving an officer of the Bourbon County Sheriff's Office.

At approximately 2051 hours, Post 6 was notified of the shooting that resulted from an earlier report of an intoxicated male on Coulthard Lane. Bourbon County Sheriff's Deputy Ed Rogers was notified of the initial complaint and responded. Upon Deputy Roger's arrival, Robert Brewer, 37, of Paris, KY was located. Mr. Brewer advised Deputy Rogers that he had a weapon and made threatening statements towards him. Mr. Brewer then made an abrupt movement and Deputy Rogers fired a shot disabling him.

Mr. Brewer was transported to Bourbon Community Hospital and was later airlifted to University of Kentucky Hospital.
