Christmas Basket Program Benefit

Date of News Release: 08/02/2007

(Campbellsburg, KY)- The Kentucky State Police Professional Association, Campbellsburg Post, would like to thank those people who have helped out and have donated in the past, to our yearly Christmas Basket Program. We would also like to make others aware of our program. In the past 20 years or so, Post personnel have made Christmas a merrier time for more than 800 families in our Post area. Donations are used to purchase food, clothing and toys, which are distributed by volunteers, (Troopers and support staff), during Christmas week. These volunteers donate countless hours shopping for items, wrapping packages, and making home deliveries to those who can't make it to our party at Post.

Unfortunately, in the past few years' donations have fallen off, putting this valuable program in jeopardy. This year we are inviting new sponsors to participate, and asking regular donors to step up once again, to insure that every needing child in our Post area, gets a special visit from Santa. We are starting a little earlier this year and attempting to raise money by having a Yard Sale. The sale will be Aug. 24th and 25th, 2007, and there will be lots of different items for sale, as well as a bake sale, and hot dogs and hamburgers for $1.00.

The location of the sale will be 1612 Whittaker Road, which is in Centerfield off of Hwy 393, (Oldham County, Ky.). The sale will start at 8:00 am and last till whenever the last patron leaves. We hope people will come and join us and take home some treasures and your new family heirlooms.

If you are unable to attend this event, you or your company can still donate. Just contact Kim Dunn or TFC. Chip Perry, at Post: (502) 532-6363 or mail your tax-deductible donations, in care of the above, to: 160 Citation Lane, Campbellsburg, Ky. 40011. Checks need to be made out to the KSPPA. Your generosity in this worthwhile cause will be greatly appreciated.
