Traffic Stop Leads to Large Seizure of Drugs, Money and Tractor-Trailer

(Campbellsburg, KY)- On Monday night, May 21st, 2007, at approx. 8:35 pm, KSP Post 5, Campbellsburg, Tpr. Justin Sams received a complaint of a fight in progress, at "Racers Nightclub", near Sparta, Ky. Tpr. Sams was requested to respond, along with Gallatin County Sheriffs Deputies, by the Gallatin County Dispatch Center.

Upon his arrival at the club, Tpr. Sams was advised that the subjects involved in the altercation had left the premises in a black tractor-trailer. Tpr. Sams was given a detailed description of the truck. The truck was last seen getting on the I-71 Southbound ramp, and Tpr. Sams attempted to locate the truck. Tpr. Sams located the vehicle on I-71 Southbound, near the 48 milemarker, approx. 4 miles north of Carrollton, Ky.

Upon questioning the 2 occupants, Tpr. Sams learned that both of the subjects have their operators license "Revoked". The driver, identified as Roderick E. Nunn, age 33, from West Memphis, Arkansas, was arrested for operating the tractor-trailer while OL and CDL is Suspended/Revoked. Upon a search of the vehicle, Tpr. Sams located $ 24, 847.00 in cash and a ½ gallon baggie of marijuana, which weighed a little over 8 oz. Nunn was also charged with "Trafficking in Marijuana-over 8 oz". The passenger, identified as Demario Quantel Brown, age 28, from Memphis, Tennessee, was also arrested and charged with; "Possession of a Controlled Substance-1st degree-Cocaine" and "Trafficking in Marijuana-over 8 oz". The money, drugs and tractor-trailer, were all seized. Nunn and Brown were both processed,(interviewed, fingerprinted, mugshots, etc.), and lodged at the Carroll County Regional Detention Center. K-9 Tpr. 1st Class Larry Newton and K-9 Riso, Tpr. Dave Roberts and Gallatin County Sheriffs Deputies, assisted Tpr. Sams.
