Pursuit & Stolen Property Recovered in Warren County

Date of News Release: 12/07/2007

(Bowling Green, KY) - Units were in the area attempting to locate a vehicle that may be pulling a trailer loaded with stolen property. Units observed the vehicle, a Chevrolet Truck, pulling a stolen trailer traveling west on Plano Rd. KSP Units initiated a traffic stop on the vehicle. The driver, Matthew Elam (Arrestee #1), got out of the vehicle, refused to comply w/commands and re-entered the vehicle and fled the scene. Jeremy C. Kimbro (Arrestee #2) was the passenger and exited the vehicle while it was in motion once the driver started to flee. Mr. Kimbro was taken into custody without incident. Mr. Elam continued in the vehicle down Whites Chapel Road and stopped after striking a cattle gate and fled on foot through a field. The suspect was located on 12/07 at the residence of Jeremy C. Kimbro and was taken into custody without further incident. Investigation is ongoing. The stolen property was as follows; (1) 2006 Dixie Chopper Mower valued at $10,200, (2) Yard Boy Push Mower valued at $170 (3) Stihl Weed Eater valued at $260, (4) Home-made trailer at $1,200. Stolen Property was recovered and returned to the owners.

Matthew Elam was arrested and charged with Wanton Endangerment 1St, RSP O/$300, Criminal Mischief 1ST, TBUT U/$300, Falsely Reporting An Incident, Wanton Endangerment 1ST Police Officer, 2 Counts Of Tampering W/Physical Evidence, Fleeing, Evading 1ST.

Jeremy C. Kimbro was arrested and charged with Receiving Stolen Property O/$300

Both were lodged into the Warren County Jail.
