Date of News Release: 02/17/2007
(BOWLING GREEN, KY) - While at the scene of a one-vehicle non-injury collision on I-65 at the 48mm northbound, Trooper Tim Adams was standing between a Park City Fire Department vehicle and the guardrail attempting to gather information from the driver who was seated inside the emergency vehicle. A northbound tractor-trailer observed the collision scene and began to brake in an attempt to slow down. The tractor´s trailer began to jack knife and come around the tractor. The tractor went off the right side of the road and struck the Park City Fire Department vehicle, which was parked on the emergency shoulder. In doing so, Trooper Adams´ left foot became pinned under the right front passenger side tire of the tractor-trailer after it came to rest. Trooper Adams was freed by Park City Fire Department members by use of their extrication equipment. Trooper Adams was transported to T.J.
