(BOWLING GREEN, KY) - The Post Commander, Captain Bill Payton of the Kentucky State Police Post 3, is reporting the following activity for the month of December 2006.
Troopers and Detectives issued a total of 2,225 citations of which 861 were for speeding, 124 warnings for no seatbelts, and 13 for no child restraint. Forty-eight people were arrested for driving under the influence of drugs or alcohol. Troopers issued 673 courtesy notices investigated 109 accidents, of which 9 were fatalities, and assisted 294 motorists, while inspecting 3,287 vehicles.
Detectives and Troopers investigated 1,435 complaints, and opened 84 criminal cases, and made 308 criminal arrests.
Troopers also worked 820 special details and programs for December.
The Kentucky State Police want to remind you that the seatbelt-warning period has ended, and being caught without your seatbelt on, can mean a stiff fine.
