Drug Arrest in Dawson Springs, KY

Dawson Springs, KY (Hopkins County) - On Thursday, December 6, 2007 at approximately 3:49 p.m., officers from the Kentucky State Police Post 2 Madisonville executed an arrest warrant on Jacob E. Hart age 23 of Dawson Springs, KY at his residence located on Fergusontown Road. The arrest warrant was obtained by officers after an investigation revealed that Mr. Hart had purchased an excess amount of psuedoephedrine (the main component in the manufacturing of meth) on 3 separate occasions in a 30 day period. Mr. Hart was taken to the Hopkins County Detention Center where KSP officers discovered that he had a medicine bottle containing approximately 2 grams of methamphetamine and several Xanax pills hidden under his clothes.
Mr. Hart was charged with the following offenses:
- Unlawful Possession of Meth Precursor (3 counts)
- Trafficking Controlled Substance 1st Degree-Meth
- Possession of Controlled Substance 3rd Degree
He was lodged in the Hopkins County Detention Center.
