Death Investigation at the Christian County Detention Center

Hopkinsville, KY (Christian County) - On Monday, December 03, 2007 at approximately 5:50 a.m., the Kentucky State Police Post 2 Madisonville was contacted by the Christian County Detention Center reference an inmate that was discovered deceased.

At approximately 5:30 a.m., jail personnel attempted to wake the victim for breakfast. The victim was unresponsive. EMS was notified and responded. Dorris Lamb, the Christian County Coroner, pronounced the victim dead. The victim is identified as Corey D. Forte age 29 of Hopkinsville, KY.

Foul play is not suspected. An autopsy is scheduled for later today at the State Medical Examiner's Office in Madisonville.
