Post 2 Under New Command

Madisonville, KY - On August 1, 2007 Captain Eric J. Walker took command at the Kentucky State Police Madisonville Post. Captain Walker is a thirteen-year veteran of the state police. He has held the rank of captain for one year.
Captain Walker began his career in 1994 as a trooper at the Henderson Post. He also was a detective in criminal investigations and street-level drug investigations while there. In 1999, he was promoted to sergeant and transferred to the Mayfield Post. In June of 2004, he was promoted to lieutenant and reassigned to the Criminal Identification and Records Branch in Frankfort as assistant branch commander. In September of 2004, he was reassigned, assuming the duties of assistant commander of the Kentucky State Police Academy. In June of 2005, he was again reassigned, this time as the commander of the Kentucky State Police - Governor's Highway Safety Program. In August of 2006, he was promoted to Captain and remained with Highway Safety. In March of 2007, he was reassigned returning to Criminal Identification and Records as the branch commander. Captain Walker stated that he is "honored to serve as the post commander of the Madisonville Post and wants to focus his efforts on making communities safer by reducing crime and fatalities."
The Madisonville Post serves the following counties: Caldwell, Christian, Crittenden, Hopkins, Muhlenberg, Todd, and Webster.
