Double Fatal Crash on US 41A in Hopkins County

(Hopkins County) - Maggie L. Jones was traveling northbound on US 41A. According to witnesses Ms. Jones' vehicle was traveling at a high rate of speed passing several vehicles. Ms. Jones lost control of the vehicle and left the right side of the roadway. Ms. Jones' vehicle traveled a short distance in the ditch striking a culvert causing the vehicle to flip end over end. Ms. Jones' vehicle came to final rest facing northbound in the southbound lane. Both Ms. Jones and her passenger (Justin D. Beach) were ejected from the vehicle. Neither occupant was wearing a seat belt. Accident investigation pending.
