Injury Crash & Drug Arrest in Marion, KY

Marion, KY (Crittenden County) - On Saturday, June 30, 2007 at 5:15 p.m., Tpr. Matt Foster responded to a complaint of a vehicle crash on KY 91 approximately 1 ½ miles north of Marion. Witnesses advised dispatch that the vehicle overturned several times and that the driver fled the scene on foot. Tpr. Foster obtained an address for the driver of the vehicle and proceeded to that location. Tpr. Foster was unable to locate the driver at that time, but located suspected contraband at the driver's residence. Tpr. Foster obtained a search warrant and executed it at the residence. Officers located marijuana and drug paraphernalia at the residence. While executing the search warrant, the driver, Matthew Taylor, returned to his residence. Mr. Taylor was charged with the following offenses:

  1. Leaving the Scene of an Accident
  2. DUI 1st Offense
  3. Cultivating Marijuana Less Than 5 Plants 1st Offense
  4. Possession of Marijuana
  5. Possession of Drug Paraphernalia 1st Offense

He was cited to court. Mr. Taylor was transported to the Crittenden County Hospital for treatment of injuries sustained in the crash. The Crittenden County Sheriff's Department assisted.
