Injury Crash on KY 109 in Beulah, KY

Date of News Release: 06/18/2007

Beulah, KY (Hopkins County) - Richard Schauland age 63 of East Palatka, FL was operating a 2002 Honda GL 1800 motorcycle southbound on KY 109. Alan Hall age 50 of Lisman, KY was operating a 1995 Nissan Quest mini-van eastbound on KY 70. Mr. Hall had stopped at a stop sign at the intersection and was attempting to make a left turn onto KY 109. Mr. Hall turned into the path of Mr. Schauland's motorcycle. The two vehicles collided at the intersection. Richard Schauland was transported by ambulance to the Regional Medical Center for treatment. His passenger, Linda Schauland age 58 of East Palatka, FL, was flown to Deaconess Hospital in Evansville, IN for treatment. Both subjects were wearing helmets. No other injuries were reported. All subjects in the mini-van were wearing restraints. Tpr. Nick Rice investigated the crash that occurred on June 18, 2007 at 12:59 p.m. Tpr. Billy Sumner, Richland Fire & Rescue, Charleston Fire & Rescue, Medical Center Ambulance Service and Air Evac assisted at the scene.
