Murder Investigation/Arrest Update

Princeton, KY (Caldwell County) - Autopsies were performed yesterday and concluded today at the State Medical Examiner's Office in Madisonville. Both victims, Penny McGregor and Kathy McGregor, died as a result of multiple gunshot wounds. The investigation is continuing by the Kentucky State Police. KSP Detective Steve Silfies is the lead investigator. On Thursday, June 14, 2007 KSP Detective Steve Silfies arrested William J. Rogers age 34 of Princeton, KY in connection with the murder of two females on Princeton Olney Road. Mr. Rogers was charged with two counts of murder and lodged in the Caldwell County Jail.
On Thursday, June 14, 2007 at approximately 1:07 a.m., the Kentucky State Police Post 2 Madisonville received a call in reference to a shooting that occurred at a trailer on Princeton Olney Road. Penny McGregor, age 30 of Princeton, KY, was pronounced dead at the scene by the Caldwell County Coroner's Office. Kathy McGregor, age 51 of Princeton, KY, was transported by ambulance to the Caldwell County Hospital where she succumbed to her injuries.
The Princeton Police Department conducted a traffic stop at KY 293 and the Western Kentucky Parkway on a vehicle driven by William J. Rogers shortly after the shooting. Mr. Rogers was taken into custody without incident.
The Princeton Police Department, the Caldwell County Sheriff's Department, Caldwell County EMS and the Caldwell County Coroner's Office assisted.
