Marijuana Eradication in Christian, Hopkins and Muhlenberg Counties

Madisonville, KY - From Monday, June 11 to Thursday, June 14, 2007, troopers from the Kentucky State Police Post 2 in Madisonville along with support from the KSP Aircraft Section eradicated a total of 325 marijuana plants in Christian, Hopkins and Muhlenberg Counties. Of those, 30 plants were located in the woods off of Schaeffer Road in Christian County, 54 plants were located in the woods near a haul road off of Red Hill Road in Hopkins County and 241 plants were located in the woods off of Union Cemetery Road in Muhlenberg County. The marijuana plants were transported to Post 2 where they were destroyed. The estimated value of the destroyed plants is $650,000. At the present time, no arrests have been made. The investigation is continuing by the Kentucky State Police.

The Kentucky State Police will continue their marijuana eradication efforts throughout the summer.
