Felony Drug Arrest in Muhlenberg County

Date of News Release: 05/20/2007

(Muhlenberg County) - On May 19, 2007, at 0005 hours, Trooper Brandon McPherson and Trooper Jerry Knight were conducting a traffic safety checkpoint on KY 175 South in Graham, KY. While traveling 175 South, Mr. Lear and Mrs. Huckleberry came upon the checkpoint where the Troopers were located. After making contact with Mr. Lear, a search of his vehicle was conducted. The search revealed approximately 188 grams of Methamphetamines in the passenger's seat of the vehicle and a fixed blade knife with a blade approximately 18 inches in length. The Methamphetamines has an estimated street value of approximately $15,000.

Gary L. Lear was charged with Possession of a Controlled Substance in the First Degree and Carrying a Concealed Deadly Weapon. Cara J. Huckleberry was charged with Possession of a Controlled Substance in the First Degree. Both were lodged into the Muhlenberg County Detention Center.
