Felony Drug Arrest in Guthrie, KY

Guthrie, KY (Todd County) - On Thursday, May 17, 2007 at approximately 2:00 p.m., officers from the Kentucky State Police Post 2, KSP DESI West and Guthrie Police Department performed a "controlled delivery" at a residence located on Lizzy Dancy Street in the limits of Guthrie.
A package was alerted on by US Customs in Wilmington, OH. The Clinton County Sheriff's Department in Ohio contacted the Guthrie Police Department in reference to the package. The Guthrie Police Department contacted KSP for assistance with the investigation.
Officers delivered the package to the residence that it was addressed to on Lizzy Dancy Street. Barbara I. Stewart signed for the package. Officers then executed a search warrant at the residence. The package contained approximately 7 pounds of marijuana. Officers located approximately 2 more pounds of marijuana and $1690 in cash inside the residence. All items were seized. The seized marijuana has an approximate street value of $18,000.
Barbara I. Stewart age 41 of Guthrie, KY was arrested without incident and charged with Trafficking Marijuana Over 5 Pounds (C Felony). The Guthrie Police Department also charged Ms. Stewart with trafficking marijuana over 8 ounces less than 5 pounds and possession of drug paraphernalia. She was lodged in the Christian County Detention Center.
