Train Versus Semi Crash in Trenton, KY

Date of News Release: 05/16/2007

Trenton, KY (Todd County) - Michael J. Henson age 45 of Hopkinsville, KY was operating a 1999 Freightliner tractor-trailer southbound on KY 475 traveling towards US 41. He was hauling pudding mix. As his vehicle crossed the railroad tracks, the trailer became stuck. He exited his vehicle and was waiting for another commercial vehicle that was going to attempt to free his. While the trailer was blocking the railroad tracks, a CSX train was traveling north. The train was unable to stop and struck the trailer. Mr. Henson was not in the vehicle at the time of the crash. No injuries were reported. Tpr. Ben Sawyer investigated the crash that occurred on May 15, 2007 at approximately 11:43 p.m. The roadway remained closed until approximately 1:32 p.m. on May 16, 2007.
