Injury Crash on KY 297 in Marion, KY
Date of News Release: 05/16/2007
Marion, KY (Crittenden County) - Karena Gerhardt age 28 of Marion, KY was operating a 1994 Pontiac Grand Am northbound on KY 297 approximately 6 miles west of Marion. As she was attempting to pass another vehicle, she ran off the left shoulder of the roadway. The vehicle overturned and came to rest upright in a creek bed. Ms. Gerhardt was transported by ambulance to the Crittenden County Hospital. She was then flown to Deaconess Hospital in Evansville, IN for treatment. Ms. Gerhardt was not wearing a seatbelt. Her passengers, Eric Shuecraft age 24 of Marion, KY and Joshua Dawson age 22 of Paducah, KY, were transported by ambulance to the Crittenden County Hospital for treatment. Mr. Shuecraft was wearing a seatbelt and Mr. Dawson was not wearing a seatbelt. Mr. Shuecraft was cited for possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia. Tpr. Darron Holliman investigated the crash that occurred on May 16, 2007 at 12:50 p.m. Tpr. Chris King, Crittenden County Rescue and Crittenden County EMS assisted at the scene.
