Update to the Cold Case Murder Arrest in Texas

Madisonville, KY (Hopkins County) - On Tuesday, March 27, 2007, Kentucky State Police Detective Steve Silfies presented the 1991 murder investigation of Sheila Jo Hargrove to the Hopkins County Grand Jury. At approximately 11:00 a.m. (CST) that day, the Grand Jury returned an indictment for murder against Bradley Dale Day age 40 of Rockwall, TX in reference to that case.

On March 27, 2007 at approximately 3:41 p.m. (CST), authorities from the Texas Department of Public Safety and the Callahan County Sheriff's Department arrested Mr. Day. He was lodged in the Callahan County Jail pending extradition back to the Commonwealth of Kentucky. At the present time, no bond has been set.

Sheila Jo Hargrove age 30 of Manitou, KY was murdered on June 4, 1991 at her residence on Roscoe Veasey Road. Her body was located later that day in a strip mine pit on Bean Cemetery Road. The cause of death was multiple stab wounds and blunt force trauma.

The investigation is continuing by the Kentucky State Police.
