Drug Arrest in Hopkins County

Hopkins County - On March 16, 2007 at approximately 9:52 p.m., Trooper Brandon McPherson attempted to stop a vehicle driven by Roger D. Skimehorn Jr. age 28 of Nortonville, KY on US 41 South for an equipment violation. As Trooper McPherson's cruiser got closer to Mr. Skimehorn's vehicle, Mr. Skimehorn made a right turn onto Will Lane and jumped out of the vehicle while it was still in motion. Mr. Skimehorn then fled on foot. After a brief foot pursuit, Trooper McPherson was able to catch Mr. Skimehorn and arrest him without further incident. The passenger in the vehicle, Crystal D. Carroll age 42 of White Plains, KY, was able to get the vehicle stopped. Mr. Skimehorn and Ms. Carroll were both arrested. Mr. Skimehorn was charged with Fleeing/Evading Police 2nd Degree (on foot), Operating on a Suspended Operator's License and Rear License Not Illuminated. Ms. Carroll was charged with Possession of a Controlled Substance 1st Degree 1st Offense (meth) and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia 1st Offense. Both were lodged in the Hopkins County Detention Center. No injuries were reported.
