Injury Crash on US 641 in Crittenden County

Marion, KY (Crittenden County) - Dustin Easley age 20 of Marion, KY was operating a 2005 Ford Mustang northbound on US 641. Robert Nichols age 72 of Marion, KY was operating a 2006 Ford F150 southbound on US 641. Mr. Easley's vehicle hydroplaned on the wet roadway and started to slide. Mr. Easley lost control of his vehicle and it traveled into the southbound lane and struck Mr. Nichols' vehicle. Mr. Easley was transported by ambulance to the Crittenden County Hospital. He was later transferred to St. Mary's in Evansville, IN. Mr. Nichols and his wife, Sarah Nichols age 70 of Marion, KY, were both transported by ambulance to the Crittenden County Hospital. Sarah Nichols was later transferred to Western Baptist Hospital in Paducah, KY. All subjects were wearing seatbelts. Mr. Easley was charged with DUI 1st Offense (drugs) and cited to court due to his injuries. Tpr. Matt Foster investigated the crash that occurred on February 12, 2007 at 3:42 p.m. The Marion Police Department, Crittenden County Sheriff's Department, Crittenden County EMS and Crittenden County Rescue assisted at the scene.
