Murder Arrest in Tommie C. Pridgen Case

Guthrie, KY (Todd County)-
On Wednesday, January 10, 2007, Kentucky State Police Detective Steve Silfies presented evidence regarding the Tommie Curtis Pridgen murder investigation to the Todd County Grand Jury. Later that day, the Grand Jury returned indictments for murder, robbery first degree and persistent felony offender first degree against Kelly D. Morris age 28 of Russellville, KY.
On Thursday, January 11, 2007 at approximately 2:00 p.m., the Russellville Police Department arrested Kelly D. Morris. He is currently lodged in the Logan County Jail with bond set at one million dollars.
On Monday, July 10, 2006 at approximately 12:12 p.m., the Kentucky State Police Post 2 Madisonville was contacted by Todd County Emergency Services reference a body that was located in a cornfield near the intersection of KY 848 and US 79 north of Guthrie. The Todd County Sheriff's Department responded to the scene and secured it until KSP arrived. A male victim was located dead at the scene. The victim appeared to have been shot.
On Tuesday, July 11, 2006 an autopsy was performed on the victim, Tommie Curtis Pridgen age 32 of Clarksville, TN, at the State Medical Examiner's Office in Madisonville, KY. Mr. Pridgen died as a result of multiple gunshot wounds.
The investigation is continuing by the Kentucky State Police.
