Cold Case Murder Arrest

Graham, click to enlargeOn Wednesday, January 10, 2007, Kentucky State Police Detective Steve Silfies presented evidence regarding a 26-year old murder case to the Todd County Grand Jury. Later that day, the Grand Jury returned indictments for murder and rape first degree against Norman L. Graham age 60 of Danville, VA in reference to that case.

On January 10, 2007 at approximately 8:40 P.M. EST, the Danville (VA) Police Department arrested Norman L. Graham at an apartment in Danville, VA. He was lodged in the Danville City Jail pending extradition back to the Commonwealth of Kentucky. His bond was set at one million dollars cash.

The victim in the case, Janis Kaye Williams age 21 of Guthire, KY, was discovered deceased in a trailer belonging to Mr. Graham on June 30, 1980. She had been stabbed multiple times and sexually assaulted.

The investigation is continuing by the Kentucky State Police.
