Crash Resulting in Road Closure

Central City, KY (Muhlenberg County) - Bobby Daniels Sr. age 52 of Hickman, KY was operating a 2004 Peterbuilt tractor-trailer eastbound on the Western Kentucky Parkway. Mr. Daniels was hauling rubber hydraulic hoses. It appears that Mr. Daniels suffered a heart attack and lost control of the vehicle. The vehicle left the roadway and entered the median. Mr. Daniels attempted to regain control of the vehicle; however, the tractor-trailer jackknifed and crossed both eastbound lanes. The vehicle struck a guardrail and came to rest on top of it. Mr. Daniels was transported by ambulance to Owensboro Mercy Hospital for treatment. He was wearing a seatbelt. Both eastbound lanes were closed for approximately 3 hours. At the present time, the scene is cleared and the roadway is open. Tpr. Lloyd Ray investigated the crash that occurred on January 3, 2007 at 3:10 a.m. The Central City Police Department, Central City Fire Department, Ohio County Sheriff's Department, Ohio County EMS and the Kentucky Highway Department.
