Post 1 Trooper Recognized For His Efforts

(LEXINGTON, KY) - On November 28, 2007 Trooper Brett Miller, of the Mayfield Post, was one of 200 Kentucky law enforcement officers recognized for outstanding efforts to keep drunk and impaired drivers off the road.
The event was hosted by the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet's Department of Transportation Safety, the Federal Highway Administration, The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration and Mothers Against Drunk Driving.
Trooper Miller is currently assigned to patrol Hickman and Fulton Counties. He has been a trooper for 2 years. Miller was recognized for arresting the most impaired driver's for the Mayfield Post (102) and he received a third place award for arresting the most impaired driver's for the state police. As an agency the Kentucky State Police was responsible for making 9,699 impaired driving arrests during the award time period.
Drunk driving is one of the country's deadliest crimes. Last year in Kentucky, driving under the influence contributed to over 6,200 alcohol related collisions, resulting in 230 deaths and more than 3,700 injuries.
