Theft by Deception over $300.00 Investigation and Arrest

(Mayfield, KY) - On November 8th, 2007, Kentucky State Police received a complaint from the United State Postal Inspector in reference to cold checks being written to the Sedalia Post Office in Sedalia Kentucky. Detective Dean Patterson began investigating the complaint and discovered the Patricia Groves of Mayfield had written 10 cold checks to the Sedalia Post Office. The checks had been written over the past year and a half and totaled over $11,000. On Tuesday, November 27th, Detective Dean Patterson arrested Patricia Groves and charged her with 10 counts of Theft by Deception over $300.00.

In October of 2007, Patricia Groves was arrested after being indicted by the Graves County Grand Jury for Theft By Failure to Make Required Disposition over $300.00. The arrest stemmed from an investigation after Groves was to alledged to have embezzeled several thousand dollars from the Graves County Booster Club in Mayfield. Both investigations are continuing by Detective Dean Patterson with the Kentucky State Police.
