Armed Robbery Arrests

(Mayfield, KY) - On 10/11/07 at 1:50 pm, Kentucky State Police received a report of an armed robbery at the Handy Korner Market at the intersection of KY 274 and Carl Gray Road in the Rockcastle community. KSP Post 1 and Post 2 Troopers and a KSP canine unit, assisted by the Trigg County Sheriff's Department, Cadiz Police Department and Kentucky Vehicle Enforcement officers responded and conducted an extensive search of the immediate area for several hours that resulted in the apprehension of three (3) suspects, who were all later charged with Complicity to Commit Robbery in the First Degree (while armed). The individuals charged are as follows:
During the flight from the scene of the robbery, William Simmons received a gunshot wound to his leg. The investigation revealed that this injury was accidentally self-inflicted during his attempt to flee. Simmons was treated and released at the Trigg County Hospital, after his apprehension.
In addition, the trio (listed above) is suspected of committing several recent residential burglaries in the Trigg County area that have been reported to the Trigg County Sheriff's Department and the Kentucky State Police. The investigation into this incident is continuing by Kentucky State Police and additional charges are pending. The suspects were lodged in the Christian County Jail.
