Injury Collision on KY 514 and KY 139 in Trigg County

(Mayfield, KY) - Trooper Wright was sitting stationary on Interstate 24 at the 60-mile marker when he clocked a vehicle travelling Westbound at 106 mph. Trooper Wright activated his emergency equipment attempting to get the vehicle to stop. The driver (Adam C.Muffler age 19 of St. Louis, MO) failed to yield and accelerated. Trooper Wright observed the vehicle passing vehicles on the left-hand shoulder of road. Adam C.Muffler exited Interstate 24 onto KY 139 travelling Northbound. Adam C.Muffler continued North on 139 until he turned Eastbound onto KY 514 where he lost control of his vehicle and overturned several times coming to final rest in the roadway on his top. Due to his injuries, Adam C.Muffler was flown to Vanderbilt hospital in Nashville, Tennessee by air evac where he is being treated for his injuries. Adam C.Muffler was charged with speeding, and fleeing and evading first. Several other charges are pending. Trooper Wright was assisted at the scene by the Kentucky State Police Post 2, Caldwell County Sheriff's Office, and the Princeton Fire Department.
