Injury Collision on KY 80 in Carlisle County

Date of News Release: 10/05/2007

(Mayfield, KY) - Mr. Billy N. Britt was traveling east on KY 80 when it is believed he suffered a diabetic episode and lost consciousness. Mr. Britt's vehicle exited the right side of KY 80 and continued approximately 120 yards before striking the residence located at 11483 SR 80E Fancy Farm. Mr. Britt's vehicle came to final rest sitting in the home. Ms. Mary Ruth Hobbs was home at the time of collision and stated she heard "a loud bang" and then woke up lying down and realized she needed to get out of the home and was able to do so. Mr. Britt had to be extricated from the vehicle and was taken to Jackson Purchase ER for observation and treatment of possible broken ribs, he was not wearing his seat belt. Trooper Clifton was assisted on the scene by Deputy Chris Harper of the Carlisle Sheriff's Office as well as Milburn Fire/Rescue Personnel, and Carlisle County EMS. The investigation is continuing by Tpr. Thomas Clifton.
