Two People Arrested on Drug Charges in Fulton, KY

(FULTON, KY) - Kentucky State Police report that at approximately 11:23 p.m. on September 6th, Trooper Brett Miller was on KY 125, north of the Tennessee State line when he observed a speeding vehicle traveling east bound. Trooper Miller initiated a traffic stop and while speaking to the driver, he detected the odor of burnt marijuana. Upon questioning, the driver admitted to just smoking marijuana and was arrested for DUI. A search of the vehicle produced an orange tote bag containing 25 individually packaged baggies of marijuana. The total weight of the marijuana was approximately 56 grams.
The driver David L. Ware of Fulton was charged with trafficking in marijuana less than 8 ounces 1st offense, possession of drug paraphernalia 2nd offense, DUI 1st offense aggravated and speeding. A passenger in the vehicle, Meagan B. Wireman of Nortonville, KY was charged with trafficking in marijuana less than 8 ounces 1st offense and possession of drug paraphernalia 1st offense. Both subjects were lodged in the Fulton County Jail. The Kentucky State Police estimated the street value of the confiscated drugs to be approximately $550.00.
