Injury Crash on KY 1241 in Graves County

Date of News Release: 08/20/2007

(Mayfield, KY) - Alfred J. Wright was traveling on KY 1241 and turned Southbound on US 45 attempting to accelerate. Jennifer L Potter failed to notice that Mr. Wright's vehicle was traveling at a very slow speed and was unable to stop before striking the back end of the trailer. Ms. Potter's vehicle became lodged underneath the trailer of Mr. Wright's vehicle and she was trapped inside her vehicle. Mayfield EMS freed Jennifer L Potter from her vehicle. She was transported by Mayfield EMS to Lourdes Hospital. Alfred J. Wright and passengers (James L. Calhoun and Christopher J. Wright) were not injured.

Kentucky State Police was assisted on scene by Graves County Sheriff's Department, Mayfield EMS, Viola Fire Department, and Viola First Responders. The investigation is continuing by Trooper Thomas Clifton.
