Fatal Crash on Meridian Road in Graves County

Date of News Release: 07/28/2007

(Graves County) - Robert G. Willis was traveling north on Meridian Road and left the right side of the roadway. Mr. Willis' vehicle then came back onto the roadway and overcorrected again leaving the right side of the roadway. Mr. Willis' vehicle traveled up an embankment rolling onto its top and continued to skid northbound impacting a ditch. Mr. Willis' vehicle then rotated 90 degrees counter clockwise and came to final rest on its roof facing west. Chanston Willhelm, age 16 (passenger in of Mr. Willis' vehicle) was pronounced dead at the scene and his next of kin has been notified by Trooper Thomas Clifton.

The Graves County Sheriff's Department, Graves County EMS, Graves County Fire and Rescue, Viola First Responders, Phi Air Medical and the Graves County Coroner assisted Kentucky State Police on scene. The investigation is continuing by Trooper Thomas Clifton U/403.
