Theft by Unlawful Taking over $300 Investigation in Livingston County

(Mayfield, KY) - Kentucky State Police are investigating the theft of numerous items taken from several boats at Lighthouse Landing camping area, Grand Rivers, KY. State Police received the theft complaint at approximately 08:00 this morning. Four theft victims were identified by the State Police, and all had had items stolen overnight from their boats. Over 20 fishing rods and reel combinations, along with depth finders, life jackets, tackle boxes, and various other items were taken by persons unknown. Total amount stolen exceeded $3500. Most of the property had been taken from inside fishing boats parked adjacent to the victims recreational vehicles, and were taken as the victims slept. Throughout the summer months, State Police will be increasing patrols throughout the lake areas in response to increased criminal activity.
