Fugitive From Another State Pursuit & Arrest

(Mayfield, KY.) - The McCracken County Sheriff's office received a tip of a wanted subject (Robert L. Carter) and his vehicle description at Home Depot in Paducah. Units made contact with Robert L. Carter & he fled the stop. The pursuit continued into Ballard County & then headed south at Wickliffe entering Carlisle County on Ky 121. Ballard County dispatch contacted State Police asking for assistance & to deploy tire deflation devices. State Police units set up and deployed at Ky 121 & Ky 440 in Graves County. The deployment was successful with the pursuit ending approximately 3/4 of a mile later. The subject was taken into custody without further incident. The subject is wanted by the US Marshall's Service out of Virginia for the sale of amphetamine. He is being charged by KSP with possession of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia 2nd, possession of controlled substance 1st, wanton endangerment 1st 4 counts, fleeing and evading 1st, speeding 26 mph over, improper passing, reckless driving, and fugitive from another state. The McCracken County Sheriff's Office has charges for fleeing and evading, wanton endangerment 2nd, criminal possession of forged instrument, speeding, disregarding a stop sign. The Ballard County Sheriff's office will be obtaining warrants for multiple chares and the Carlisle County Sheriff has charges pending as well. Robert L. Carter is currently lodged in the Graves County jail.
