Missing Juvenile Located in Smithland, KY

(SMITHLAND, KY.) On February 27, 2007 at 7:28AM, Kentucky State Police 911 received a call from a residence on River Road, East of Smithland reporting their 15 year-old child missing. A ground and air search was conducted covering the area behind the residence and along the flooded banks of the Ohio River. At approximately 11:45AM, Kentucky State Police dispatchers made contact with the juvenile on his cell phone. Using the cell phone GPS, dispatchers were able to locate the juvenile on Rocky Lane and led investigators to his location. The juvenile was transported by ambulance to Western Baptist Hospital where he was treated for minor injuries. The Livingston County Sheriff's Department, McCracken County Chief Deputy Mike Turnbow and K-9 Flash, and the Kentucky National Guard assisted state police with the search.
