Fatal ATV Crash on Melvin Road in Graves County

Date of News Release: 02/15/2007

(Graves County) - Charles E Hendon Jr was operating an ATV on his property when he turned left out of his driveway into the path of Portia J Pace. In an attempt to avoid collision with the ATV, Portia J Pace applied her brakes; However, the right front of the ATV impacted with the right front corner of Portia J Pace. The ATV came to final rest overturned on the roadway. Charles E Hendon JR was pronounced deceased on scene by Graves County Coroner, Phillip McClain. Trooper Patterson was assisted on the scene by Sgt. Lewie Dodd u/169, Trooper Kyle Nall u/966, Graves County Sheriff's Department Units Chief Deputy Dewayne Redmon, Deputy Van Allen, Deputy David Warner, Sheriff John Davis, The Sedalia Volunteer Fire Department, and Mayfield-Graves County EMS.
