Drug Round-Up & Arrest in the Post 16 Area

(Henderson, KY) - The Kentucky State Police Drug Enforcement/Special Investigations-West Section (DE/SI-West) concluded a several month long investigation into unlawful purchases of Pseudoephedrine in the Daviess County area.

The investigation led to the arrests of 6 individuals from numerous areas that were driving to Daviess County and purchasing excess amounts of Pseudoephedrine that exceeded the 9-gram per 30 day limit set by Kentucky Law.

These individuals were using multiple pharmacies and retail stores in the Owensboro area and some were buying from multiple stores the same day.

This investigation was the direct result of Daviess County law enforcement officers and retail stores/pharmacies working together to combat the illegal purchases of Pseudoephedrine, which is a necessary chemical/product, used in the production of Methamphetamine.

The KSP DE/SI-West was assisted by the KSP Post-16 in Henderson, the Daviess County Sheriff's Office, the Owensboro Police Department Street Crimes Unit, and the KSP Canine Section.

Those arrested were:

  1. Tanya L. Burnette, age 20 of Owensboro, KY, Charged with Unlawful Possession of a Methamphetamine Precursor, Lodged in the Daviess County Jail
  2. Jeremiah L. Dunn, age 25 of Owensboro, KY, Charged with Unlawful Possession of a Methamphetamine Precursor, Lodged in the Daviess County Jail
  3. Richard C. Cravens, age 38 of Fordsville, KY, Charged with Unlawful Possession of a Methamphetamine Precursor, Lodged in the Ohio County Jail
  4. Michael R. Sanders, age 42 of Fordsville, KY, Charged with Unlawful Possession of a Methamphetamine Precursor, Lodged in the Ohio County Jail
  5. Jason D. Powers, age 29 of Lewisport, KY, Charged with Unlawful Possession of a Methamphetamine Precursor, Lodged in the Breckinridge County Jail
  6. Louis M. Stanzione, age 42 of Falls of Rough, Charged with Unlawful Possession of a Methamphetamine Precursor, Lodged in the Grayson County Jail

There are several pending arrests of individuals in surrounding counties that were not located today. The Kentucky State Police urges retailers and citizens to aware and notify the KSP, or their local law enforcement agency of any suspicious Pseudoephedrine purchasers or other narcotics activities.
