Update to the Death Investigation in Ohio County

(Henderson, KY) - Further investigation into the death of Theresa Hicks is being treated as a homicide. Preliminary autopsy findings indicate that Ms. Hicks died as a result of multiple blunt force trauma. In addition to the original charges on Robert W. Casey, he has been charged this evening with murder for the death of Ms. Hicks. The investigation is still on going at this time.
(Henderson, KY) - Kentucky State Police Post 16 Henderson is conducting a death investigation in Hartford. The initial complaint was received as a disturbance call at a residence on morning drive in Hartford. Robert W. Casey was located outside the residence and moments later the body of 43 year old Theresa Hicks of Hartford was discovered in a vehicle in front of the morning drive residence. Ms. Hicks was pronounced dead at the scene by the Ohio County Coroner. Mr. Casey and Ms. Hicks had been in a physical altercation at a different location earlier in the evening. The investigation is ongoing, and at this point Mr. Casey has been charged with Violation of a KY EPO/DVO, Assault 2nd Degree, and DUI. The Assault 2nd charge stems from an incident that occurred earlier in the evening with different subject.
An autopsy is scheduled for Thursday morning at The Kentucky State Medical Examiners Office in Madisonville.
