Death Investigation in Ohio County

(Henderson, KY) - The Kentucky State Police are currently conducting a death investigation in Ohio County.

On the evening of February 8th, 2007, a hunter found the skeletal remains on reclaimed mining property off of KY 62 three miles east of Beaver Dam KY. Officers with the Ohio County Sheriff's Department and the Kentucky State Police responded to the scene. The investigation began at 10:00 a.m. on February 9th, 2007, with the Kentucky State Medical Examiner's office, detectives with the Kentucky State Police and Ohio County Sheriff's office.

At this time the gender of the remains have not be determined and cause of death is not known. At this point in the investigation little is known and results are expected from the state medical examiner's office the first of next week. We will be looking over missing person's report to see if there is any related information that could be used to determine the identification of this subject.
