October Monthly Activity From Post 15

(Columbia, KY) - During the month of October 2007, there were 46 traffic accidents investigated by the State Police working in the Post 15 area in the 11 counties of Adair, Casey, Clinton, Cumberland, Green, Marion, Metcalfe, Monroe, Russell, Taylor and Washington.

There were two fatalities:
JANA D. BELLINGER, Campbellsville, Kentucky, was killed in Taylor County on 10/16/07,
DONNIE E. PHELPS, Somerset, Kentucky was killed in Casey County on 10/22/07.

This brings our yearly fatality count to 37 compared with 50 through this same period in 2006.

State wide fatality count stands at 721 compared with 759 through this same period in 2006.

During the month of October 2007, there were 1,015 citations written, 289 courtesy notices written, 1,783 vehicles inspected, 1,019 complaints answered, 89 motorists assisted, 68 criminal cases opened and 250 criminal arrests made.
